July Newsletter

July is here, that means sunshine, bare-feet and a slightly less packed schedule for our 99p film team.

Here’s what’s coming up:

  • GoodBye Iman’s Syrian Food Truck!
  • July events
  • We’re taking a summer break… but first… the Dereks.

The time has come, to say a temporary goodbye to our dear friend and incredible chef: Iman.

From Tropical Pressure, to Wildlife Groundswell Festivals, to events throughout 99p Films’ life- Iman has been cooking us delicious Syrian feasts filled with love.

As our relationship with her grew, we started to understand that our events were never going to be frequent enough to give her and her family the financial stability to live well here in Cornwall.

We also knew that it has always been a dream of Imans- even when she lived in Syria- to own her own restaurant.

We’re so happy to now celebrate Imans success in securing a spot with Dynamite Brewery at their new space on The Moor.

She’ll be there: Thursday, Friday, Saturday of every week in August.

We wish her every success and will definitely be down there to order her (in our humble opinion) unbeatable falafels- fresh from the fryer.

She also sells her hummus, babaganoush and other offerings at the Falmouth Food Coop on Mondays between 4-7 or online here.

So now you’ve got two extra places to find her!

Keep scrolling to the end for some of Iman’s top tips on Syrian cooking!

FARE-WELL FOOD-TRUCK!

Some of you may remember our foray into the festival food truck sphere.

With Iman as our head chef and Alex and team on service- we toured Tropical Pressure, Summer Camp and other spots around Cornwall.

Jack worked his magic on an old horse box and made it the sexiest food truck in the festival fields.

We’ll miss this little venture, but as we ramp up to expand 99p beyond the borders of Cornwall, our eyes are set to different horizons… watch this space!

We’re coming to the end of our No Trees No Seas screenings with only TWO left…

Get your tickets whilst they last!

For those of you who couldn’t make it to our screenings… keep an eye on the Plant One website where they may be announcing more soon.

Ta ta for now…

We’re taking a well-earned break this summer after the Helston event on 18th July.

Catch us at Tropical Pressure, Summer Party, or barefoot on a beach near you.

See you again on 20th September when we bring you two iconic characters over the Tamar to a screening near you.
