So it’s nearly the end of June! The hottest ever on record.

We don’t need to say what we’re all thinking, because if you came to our National Emergency Briefings, you’ll already know it.

But hey, instead of bringing more bad news and reminding you of societies imminent collapse… we’re bringing you a tiny little solution, that could just be a little piece of a bigger puzzle!

We’re sweating, we’re outside more, and we’re definitely swimming in the ocean (or any water source at this rate).

So that means we’re thinking about… suncream.

There’s been plenty of research on the harmful effects of off-the-shelf suncreams on our bodies, but perhaps more importantly- on all aquatic life.

Read here and here and here for more.

Full of petrochemicals (PFA’s) and inorganic substances, we’re here with a friendly reminder to leave that sh*t on the shelf.

And we’ll go a step further to offer some alternatives:

  1. The obvious conclusion could be to cover your skin. Light cotton, funky sun hats, flowing trousers.
  2. Use ZINC suncreams! Zinc is We researched them so you don’t have to: Badger SPF 30AmaZinc SPF 50

SunTribe SPF 30

Keep our oceans clean!

Ok… now on with the show.

THE NATIONAL EMERGENCY BRIEFING – TRURO COLLEGE

Although we don’t always have the capacity to shout about it, we do one-off screenings on request- especially if it’s for something of significance to the great turning (a phrase picked up from The Work That Reconnects)

This is what led us to collaborating with RJ Working to bring the National Emergency Briefing to Truro College this week.

Once again this film showcased the exponential threats facing our future as young people today. But it also gave us hope, and solutions, and opened a crack in the door to let us see a brighter future ahead.

This event, along with some funding secured from…. for a Rip It Up Programme has inspired us to work closer with young people in Cornwall.

We believe that we get to decide what kind of ancestors we want to be! What do we leave behind? And how do we empower our youth to live with integrity, passion and resilience?

This all comes amid unprecedented heat-waves and unpredicted electrical storms hovering over Europe this week.

The world is getting weirder, and it needs us to think clearly and consistently about our behaviours. And if you haven’t already woken up to it… it’s time.

Thank you for the team at RJ working for making this happen!

Spot Jack, our incredible creative director, representing RJ. It’s because of his work with the company as well as with us that we were able to connect to Truro College. (yes, we’re forever jealous that we have to share him 😉

Thinking of going to see one of the most celebrated environmental documentaries about the surfing industry?

Well… we’ve got a discount for you!

Wether you ride goofy, hang ten, or prefer the bodyboard… it’s not about what you do, but what you wear.

Here’s a bit about the film:

Exposing surfing’s hidden links to ‘Cancer Alley’, the true cost Neoprene production as well the natural alternative that literally grows on trees, The Big Sea from filmmakers Lewis Arnold, Chris Nelson and Demi Taylor catalysed one of the biggest revolutions in the surf industry and celebrates the power we have as individuals to effect change.

After showing the teaser for this amazing documentary a few years ago- it’s amazing to see this film completed!

Watch the trailer here.

Use code: Reinventing for 30% off tickets for The Big Sea.

This code is valid until 27th June.

Sneak a peak….

Just to tickle your pickle a little further… we’ve got such a fun documentary locked in for the Autumn…

Two men, two conflicting approaches to managing their land and one incredible scone baker.

It’s going to be wild.

And its going to be coming to a farm near you.

We’ll say no more…
